Greetings from High Mowing School's Admissions Office!
What makes High Mowing a superior choice for high school?
Waldorf Education for Boarding and Day Students- High Mowing is the only Waldorf High School in North America to offer a boarding program. Two professional dormitory counselors and their families live in each dorm to support a rich home-like atmosphere--and prior Waldorf experience is not necessary to your success at High Mowing--while over 60 percent of our students come from Waldorf schools world-wide, the balance come from many educational streams--from other independent schools, public schools and home-schools, too!
Dedicated Teachers/Outstanding Instruction- High Mowing faculty members are dedicated to the art of teaching. They strive to present each subject in the most lively and engaging ways--often involving multi-disciplinary approaches.
Academic Quality- High Mowing's curriculum balances Math, Sciences, Foreign Languages, Social Studies, History, English, Drama, Art and Music in the time-honored liberal arts tradition. Our curriculum gives the learner a matrix of information into which to put new ideas, so that our students not only "get" what they are studying in the moment, but continuously build context, to make information useful for the long-run.
Motivates Students- High Mowing teachers, staff and dorm counselors are active in helping each student to achieve his/her best--in and outside the classroom.
Safe Environment- Located on a hilltop in Southern New Hampshire, High Mowing's campus is the center of a student's social life, whether the student boards or comes in for the day. In a time that is challenging for teens, it's good to know that our students experience freedom within form.
Confidence Instilled- High Mowing graduates are articulate and carry themselves into their futures willing and able to tackle life's challenges.
Students Learn to Think for Themselves- High Mowing students learn how to learn. Under the guidance of our teachers, they develop their abilities to make their own observations and to solve problems creatively.
Individual Attention- High Mowing class sizes are small. In addition, teachers are generous with their time--regularly making themselves available to students when additional clarification of an assignment or additional help is needed.
Supportive, Nurturing School Community- The High Mowing culture encourages students to try new activities and to explore new areas of interest throughout their high school years. The school community is warm and welcoming of new students.
I warmly invite you to come and experience High Mowing for yourself. Please contact me to set a date for a campus tour or admissions visit.
Sincerely,
