"Story telling and verse create the major early childhood introductions to the vast world of human speaking and interchange. Drama comes in slowly from third grade and teachers can witness the child's longing for it by the fifth grade. From then on, drama is a powerful tool to help the child develop a great enthusiasm for life itself.

The three great goals of all drama work, according to Steiner, are:

1) to develop a zest, a vigor, and enthusiasm for all aspects of life.

2) To investigate The World Soul as it appears in all the characters in plays.

3) To come closer to a sense of one's own destiny--a faculty created by the full presence of mind so necessary to good drama."
