Perseus the Gorgon Slayer

Perseus, one of the great heroes of Greek Mythology, was the son of Zeus and the mortal Danae. As a baby he was cast out to sea in a casket with his mother by his grandfather, Acrisius. It had been prophesied to Acrisius that he would be killed by one of his own blood and he hoped in this way to avoid his destiny. Perseus and Danae landed on an island where Perseus grew up strong and courageous. One day the king of the island, who was a cruel man, tried to make a fool of Perseus and, in order to save face, Perseus swears that he will bring back the head of the terrible Gorgon, Medusa. And so his adventure began and led him to win the beautiful princess Andromeda as his wife and be exalted as a great hero.
Using masks, this adventure is brought to life through eurythmy and theatre. For children aged 8 to 12, lasting approximately 40-45 minutes. Directed by Philip Beaven
