Carol telling us about her set ideas

continued ...............

So now we had two incarnations, with the second set in France in the 12th century. At this point we started to look at the whole question of life after death. As well as studying what Steiner had to say about this time Martin was studying Dante! Steiner describes a process of spiritualisation for the individual, where with the help of other beings, he works through and transforms his achievements and failures in preparation for the next earthly life. Dante describes a purging process of ones sins. The only way we felt we could do this and remain honest to our own experience, was to create a poetic rendering of these experiences, presented largely through eurythmy. This has proved to be fruitful.

Meanwhile we had arrived at the contemporary situation in the same way that we had come to the others. Now we had three incarnations and we were ready to work on the whole. Our first complete run through was at the end of week 6, and the invited audience made it clear that we needed to make what we were doing much clearer! Who was who?!

So this last week it has been a question of deepening and clarifying everything that we have and developing the music in preparation of the next run through this Friday, to which we will be inviting more guests, including some who have little idea what we are doing prior to the run through!
