Performer art of performance emerson college

Finding the performer within
presence, being in the moment, playfulness, voice, ensemble
22nd September To 24th October 2008

At the centre of all creative activity is “play”. But the natural playing of the child is past and most of us have to learn how to play again. When we do, a sense of self empowerment grows in us. So too trust develops, in ourselves and in those we play with. On this basis we can collaborate with others and create that which is more than each individual, and yet owned by each one of us as co-creators. The neutral mask will help us to speak with our bodies, and as we unfold the individual voice, and learn techniques to bring performance ideas to realization, the performer (artist) in each of us is born.

This is a 5 week full time course. We will begin each day at 8.30 and end at 5.30pm.
The course can be taken as a single course or as the first part of the “Art of Performance” year.

Supplementary courses with other tutors are still being arranged.
